Sauk Plains Plumbing & Pump installed a Noritz 751-dvc tankless water heater. Services included taking out the old heater, installing the new heater and venting, and moving the water softener.
Work was completed in about 7 hours by one plumber. Installation did include altering the water and gas lines to and from the heater and softener, due to changes in space requirements for the new unit (less was needed) and the move of the water softener (into space cleared by the old tank heater). Services came in under estimate, although two hours of labor were charged for the water softener move (the total cost of project was still in the two lowest bids, so we found this ok). Area was left clean after work was completed, plumber used a tarp to protect our carpet in his travel through the house, install appears professional. Heater appears to work as advertised.
UPDATE (12.27.2011): The water heater appears to have been a lemon, as was its replacement. Both would frequently trigger “Error Code 12”. Sauk Plains staff were patient throughout what became a 2 year process of troubleshooting (gas meter pressure tracking, changing gas meter, Noritz rep and tech guys doing site visits, replacement water heater, and finally a replacement commercial condensing unit water heater) finally resulting in a smoothly running replacement water heater (the condensing unit). Sauk Plains was exemplary in working with us and sticking up for us in our dealings with the distributor. Their after-installation customer service was extremely valuable; I’m glad we went with a highly rated installer who carried weight with the distributor.
