Project Management: A New (Web Enabled) Era

“Our goal has been to provide service at a higher level along with creating a great product.  A new web based system for tracking and reporting the status of a project provides a new level of availability of information,” says Gina Newell, Business Manager of Haver Design & Construction.  “We can give our customers a higher level of accessibility than ever before.”

“Successful home improvement companies have usually been very good at providing customer service, ” Newell adds, “to  create a higher level of service; we designed a dynamic, web enabled project management system. This system allows an entire project to be conceived, planned, scheduled, altered and tracked throughout the process in a nearly transparent  fashion.”

Password Protection:  Logging-In for Access, Communication, & Timing

Each project, from estimate through punch list, and every step in between, is posted in a password protected area of the Haver Design website. This allows equal access of information for everyone involved with the project on a 24-hour basis. Including:

Complete Access—24/7 for the…
• Homeowner
• Sales Consultant
• Expediter
• Project/Business Manager
• Project Leader
• Sub-Contractors

“Updated weekly (usually on Friday), each project file reflects changes in schedules, any changes generated by the customer
or general information such as updated project photos and other documents contributing to the progress of the project,” Newell says.  “Nearly every facet of the project is documented for everyone involved to see.  It’s as if everyone in our office, every sub contractor and customer can look into the same file cabinet and see the current information.”

“We know when a homeowner commits to making a change in their home, it’s a big step for them. We also know some of the biggest frustrations they have is not knowing where the project is in it’s schedule, when things are going to be done, or especially, when a schedule has to be altered for any number of reasons.  It’s an emotional process. Having accurate, timely and complete information at their fingertips is comforting service,” says Newell. “We’re just glad we can provide that service to our customers.”
