Once you have decided on an area in your home that is calling out to you to have a custom piece of stained glass made, the next step is to find an artist to create this design. Make sure that the person creating your masterpiece is a good listener as well as a resource of ideas.
With my clients, I usually suggest that one breaks the selection process into two parts.
The first part is deciding on the design!
Once that is accomplished, move on to the color selection.
It seems simple, but many times people get so caught up with color they don’t have a clue what design they want.
Once the design and colors have been chosen, let the fun begin. At our studio I will cut out part of the design so the customer can visually see how the colors are going together. This takes the guesswork out of the process and allows for you the customer to get a good sense of what the finished project will look like. As you look around in your home you will begin to see all the possibilities for stained glass. Some areas to consider are entryways, interior transoms, room dividers, bathroom windows, sconces and cabinet doors. Incorporating stained glass into any of these areas would make the perfect addition to your home.
